Abstract:

Henan is one of the provinces that have huge grain production, and is important to the nation’s food security. To explore the comparative advantaged regions of rice, wheat and corn in Henan Province, during the national grain core region’s building, based on the comparative advantage theory, this paper used the integrated comparative advantage index, collected the three grain crops’ production data in 18 cities in Henan province and systematically analyzed values in EAI, SAI and AAI of every major crop, both province’s level compared to the nation’s average and city’s level compared to the province’s average. The results showed that there exist differences in comparative advantage among the 18 cities, and there were 3 rice advantaged yield regions, 9 wheat advantaged yield regions and 13 corn advantaged yield regions in Henan Province.
