Abstract:

To drastically reduce the loss of rice production caused by salty wind damage, we made an investigation to the effects of pre-sprinkling water on salty wind damage. The amount of NaCl adhesion per panicle was compared between treatments with pre-sprinkling water - sprinkling salty water - sprinkling water and sprinkling salty water - sprinkling water by simulation experiments. When sprinkling salty water produced 4.6-4.8 mg of NaCl adhesion per panicle, the treatment with pre-sprinkling water - sprinkling salty water - sprinkling water produced 0 mg of NaCl adhesion per panicle while sprinkling salty water-sprinkling water could produce 2.8 mg of NaCl adhesion per panicle. This results indicated that, pre-sprinkling water could effectively reduce the damage of salty wind damage. In addition, we developed a technique to measure the amount of NaCl adhesion per panicle by refractometer and put forward a comprehensive system to alleviate the salty wind damage.
