Abstract:

The aim was to study the physiological characteristics of dry-land wheat seedling in leisure period. Field test was carried out to study the effect of different covering in leisure period on soil water storage at the depth of 0-20 cm, plant growth characteristics, and on the POD activity, SOD activity, and MDA content, and regulation of nitrogen level in leaves in wheat under dry land condition. The results showed that soil water storage at the depth of 0-20 cm, tiller numbers, main stem leaf age and dry weight in plant, POD and SOD activity were increased, and MDA content was decreased under the treatment of permeability plastic film mulching (PM). In the water permeability plastic film mulching (PM) and liquid plastic film mulching (LM) condition, the soil water storage at the depth of 0-20 cm, MDA content were significantly the highest under the treatment of low nitrogen (LN) and, and the lowest under the treatment of high nitrogen (HN), POD activity and SOD activity were significantly increased under the treatment of middle nitrogen (MN). So, appropriate N fertilizer and PM increased the soil water storage and facilitated the growth of dry-land wheat.
