Abstract:

To obtain high efficient gossypol-degraded bacteria, a strain named M-9 was isolated from a soil microcosm by used the gossypol as the only carbon resource and investigated due to the finding that it could degrade free-gossypol. After observe its morphology, analyzed its biochemical characteristic and combine with 16S rDNA sequence, it was identified as the Bacillus subtilis preliminarily. The detoxification research showed that, the M-9 bacterial strain had the ability to be degraded the free gossypol in the cottonseed cake, and the rate of degradation was 94.74%, residual quantity was up to our national feed hygiene standard (GB13078-2001), the free gossypol content of the feedstuff cottonseed cake was no more than 1200 mg/kg. And via toxicity feeding test, we make sure that, the treatment to the bacterial strain M-9 had reduced the toxicity of gossypol.
