Abstract:
The ‘6?06’ serious flood and mudslide disaster in Wangmo County caused a serious damage the county. In order to make the damaged land be reclaimed and utilized scientifically and reasonably, field investigations were carried out, GPS was used to collect the information of typical damaged points, some maps including the second national land survey sub-compartments, the topographic maps (1:10000), regionalism map (1:50000), hydro-geological map, Spot 5 satellite images were used, and software including Arc View, Arc GIS and Erdas were used to analyze and evaluate the land reclamation potential and define the key reclamation areas. It was found that the cultivated land, especially those on both sides of the rivers were seriously damaged, among which the seriously damaged land washed out occupies the most proportion, then the moderate damaged land covered and the slightly damaged land flooded was the third; there were large areas being damaged, but a small amount could be reclaimed; the land with the highest potential for reclaiming was located on both sides of the river mainly in slightly damaged land flooded; the reclamation potential were divided into three grades, of which the key areas are Lewang Town and Fuxing Tow; it was suggested relevant departments promote the reclamation immediately to ensure the food production and supply.
