Abstract:
Japanese apricot (Prunus mume Sieb. et Zucc.) originates in China and it is a fruit crop with a typical of gametophytic self-incompatibility (GSI). Previous studies have shown that GSI is controlled by S locus, which consists of a pistil determinant S-ribonuclease gene (S-RNase gene) and a pollen determinant gene (SFB/SLF gene). This paper mainly introduced the recent research advances of self-incompatibility genes (S genes and SFB/SLF genes) and AS-PCR theoretical basis for identifying the genotypes in Japanese apricot, and the main S-genotypes and SFB/SLF genotypes at home and abroad of Japanese apricot were summarized, which would be valuable for selecting appropriate pollinated varieties and incompatibility parents for hybridization breeding.
