Abstract:

Paeonia suffroticosa’ Lu He Hong’ was selected as plant materials in this research. During the dormancy release, the dynamic changes in contents of the endogenous soluble protein, soluble sugar, soluble starch and free amino acid and the activity of amylase and Glutamine synthase were measured in order to explore the physiological mechanism of dormancy releasing in tree peony, relevance to nutrients content. The results showed that contents of the soluble protein, soluble sugar, and soluble starch had varying degrees of increasing. After 15 days of chilling treatment, dormancy was broken and the content of the soluble protein decreased, then increased again. But the content of free amino acid had no significant difference from the control. Carbon and nitrogen ratio was lower with no chilling treatment. The ratio after chilling treatment was continuously increased and maintained at high level. Furthermore, the activity of amylase increased but the change trend was slow, with the content of soluble sugar increasing, to increase the accumulation of carbohydrates. The activity of Glutamine synthase showed the trend o f increasing firstly and lowering then, reaching the highest value under 15 days chilling treatment.
