Abstract: To discuss methodology of regionalization of farming system supported by quantitative analysis. This paper studied the index system of regionalization of farming system, and methodology of database establishment, climate index value extraction, landform unit extraction, low-level regions merging in regionalization of farming system. These studies showed that: an explicit multi-level index system is the key for quantitative regionalization. A technical framework for quantitative regionalization was combined by bottom-up and top-down, which uses different methods in different levels. Quantitative analysis in a qualitative frame could improve the rationality and accuracy in regionalization of farming system.
