Abstract: Abstract: In order to further evaluate the effect of the climate condition of Yunnan gold corridor on flue-cured tobacco production, we analyze a total of 34 years (1971-2004) of illumination, temperature, rainfall and other meteorological factors data of the Yunnan gold corridor tobacco cultivation area, which includes 10 city 53 counties. Based on the SPSS system clustering method in the average temperature, maximum temperature, minimum temperature, sunshine duration, the average rainfall，the average evaporated capacity, the average relative humidity in the flue-cured tobacco growth period, Yunnan gold corridor tobacco cultivation area will be divided into 4 climate types area. And we analyze the climate characteristics of various types. The results indicated that the differences of the average temperature, maximum temperature, minimum temperature, sunshine duration, and the average relative humidity of tobacco growth period in 4 climate types are smaller, but the average rainfall and the average evaporated capacity of the flue-cured tobacco growth period in 4 climate types area has obvious differences, which may be the key ecological factors that affect tobacco quality of the gold corridor tobacco cultivation region.
