Abstract: In order to develop a rapid screening method for high effective cellulose degrading fungi, and to obtain the high effective cellulose degrading fungi, screening of cellulose degrading fungi by mycelium growth rate method was studied, so as to lay the foundation for the research and development of cellulose resource. Mycelium growth rate method, a new screening method of cellulose degrading fungi was offered, and by this means 31 cellulose degrading fungi were separated from the soil, and 4 fungi with strong cellulose degradation activities were got by preliminary screening and the results of the secondary screening showed that the 4 fungi had strong and stable cellulose degradation activities, and the cellulose degradation rates of strain 1 reached (2.62±0.06) cm been cultured for 12 h, (5.93±0.04) cm for 24 h, (7.93±0.04) cm for 36 h, and the mycelium covered the entire petri dish for 48 h in particular, and significantly higher than the others.
