Abstract: In order to analyze the variation characteristics of the extreme weather events in China under the background of global warming, based on the homogeneous daily maximum and minimum temperature data without the influence of meteorological station relocation of 201 observational stations in China during 1960-2009, the spatial and temporal features of the winter warm and cold daytime frequency were studied. Results showed that: during 1960-2009, winter warm and cold daytime frequency showed an identical high frequency abnormal or low frequency abnormal. Warm daytime frequency increased. The cold daytime frequency decreased. The standard deviation of cold daytime frequency in the north was larger than that in the south. The trend coefficient’s distribution of warm daytime frequency increased all over China, and the cold daytime frequency decreased all over China. The trend coefficients in the north were larger than that in the south. Winter warm and cold daytime frequency showed obvious area feature. All the regions were warming and warming. The mutation years were different from area to area.
