Abstract: The Septoria tritici leaf blotch of wheat has been becoming serious during the past few years. In order to find out some resistant materials, the resistance level of 44 wheat lines and 4 common varieties was evaluated by artificial inoculation with S. tritici conidial suspension and by disease classification. The results showed that 8 varieties (lines) were immune accounting for 16.67% of the total materials, 23 varieties (lines) were resistant (47.92%), among which 19 varieties (lines) showed high-resistance and 4 varieties (lines) moderate resistance. Seventeen varieties (lines) were susceptible, accounting for 35.41% of the total materials, among which 8 varieties (lines) were moderate-susceptible and 9 wheat varieties (lines) high-susceptible. Disease index had a significant positive correlation to rate of diseased leaves (r=0.9817), indicating that both factors can be used for the disease severity evaluation of varieties. It is concluded that most of these varieties were resistant to S. tritici. These immune and highly resistant varieties can be good materials for the future plant breeding to wheat leaf blotch, and also be references for the selection of variety in wheat production.
