Abstract: In order to establish cost-effective water resource conservation forest and precisely evaluate the forest ecosystem service, the relationships between water storage of pore of forest soil and holding capacity for 0-1 m depth soil in Changtan Provincial Nature Reserve in Guangdong Province were studied. The results showed that: the extant water storage was affected significantly by the total water storage, the capillary storage and the non-capillary storage, whereas the available water storage was only affected significantly by the non-capillary storage. The relationship between capillary storage and the extant water storage were negatively correlative and the others were positively correlative.
