Effects of Bagging Treatments on Fruit Quality and Coloration of ‘Yueping’ Apple Variety

Abstract: The changes of fruit peel pigment after bag removal and the suitable bags of the ‘Yueping’ apple fruit were studied in order to determine suitably time of harvest after bag removal. Setting for the 3 treatments of bagging, the content of different treatments of inner substances, sugars, acids and fruit peel pigments were tested with ‘Yueping’ apple as material. The results indicated that the paper bags increased the content of ‘Yueping’ fruit firmness 7.7% and the peel anthocyanin 30.9%, promoted fruit coloring, improved fruit appearance quality, but decreased the relish of ‘Yueping’ fruit and reduced fructose 14.2%, sucrose 59.7%, and total sugar 19.2%. The plastic film bags reduced the content of ‘Yueping’ fruit hardness 6.1%、10.0% and the peel anthocyanin 36.4%、35.3%; The plastic film bags removing treatment improved the content of fruit fructose 11.6% and total sugar 6.8%; at the same time to determine the best time of ‘Yueping’ fruit harvest after bag removal were 9-11 days.
