Research Advances in Key Enzyme Genes of Tobacco Aroma Compounds Synthesis Metabolism

Abstract: This article specified three main kinds of regulating pathway related with plant aroma compounds synthesis, concluded the function and expression types of key enzyme genes in catalyzing major intermediate products which belong to phenyl propane metabolic pathways, isoprene metabolic pathways and alkaloid synthesis pathway respectively, and highlighted the latest developments of these key enzyme genes in tobacco, Accordingly this article raised that more in-depth research in protein as well as the metabolic network interaction analysis is urgently needed, in addition to the expression regulation and genetically modified crop improvement at the genetic level. From above analysis, next improvement of tobacco fragrance quality through metabolic engineering and its application prospect in agricultural production areas were prospected.
