Abstract: In order to study the ecological and economic benefits of different cultivation patterns of Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat varieties, split plot experiment was designed using 3 Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat varieties as primary factors and 3 cultivation patterns as secondary factors. The varieties included Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat originating in Bozhou, Henan and Hangzhou. The cultivation patterns involved watermelon interplanting, transplanting after wheat harvest and single planting. The results showed that: the pattern of intercropping with watermelon was the best for both economic and ecological benefits. The economic output of Bozhou Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat was the highest. Because it could make full use of natural temperature, moisture, light and other ecological factors, and had higher economic and ecological benefit, intercropping watermelon with Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat could be popularized in similar rigions. 3 varieties were suitable for introduction and cultivation in hilly loess regions of southern Shanxi Province.
