Abstract: In order to confine the growth traits and nutrient absorption characteristics in different period between various cultivars of Coix lacryma-jobi L., pot test was carried through. The Results showed that‘Qian No.1’Job’s-tears (Coix lacryma-jobi L.) and‘Qian No.2’Job’s-tears had significant differences between strain morphology and growth patterns. In 60 days after sowing, the two strains nitrogen content of straw gradually decreased with the increasing time. The nitrogen content of root all reached maximum at the booting stage, they were 2.85% and 2.45%. At the mature stage, they maintained 1.76% and 1.96%. In 60 days after sowing, the K content of straw achieved the maximum; finally, two strains of K content were 1.84% and 2.16%. However, the K content of root changed little. The 30 days after sowing and maturity stage of the K content were basically identical. The correlation analysis showed that between the N, K content of straw and dry matter, grain number, seed setting rate, 1000- grain weight, and production of five yield traits had no significant correlation, the N and K content of straw had a direct effect on the dry matter weight.
