Outcome Application of Agricultural Land Classification on the Prime Farmland Confirmed in Shanshan County

Abstract: In order to realize the scientific definition and management of prime farmland, using outcome of land assessment is one of important technology support. On the basis of master the farmland information about the degree of salinity, probability of irrigation, natural quality grade and so on in the outcome of land quality assessment, to filter out high-quality farmland and conduct an overlay analysis with the existing prime farmland polygon with the help of GIS technology. The results showed that: a phenomenon that there were some low-quality land in the prime farmland and some high grade land could become prime farmland. This case study showed that using outcome of land quality assessment to confirm quantity of prime farmland could provide references and bases simply and effectively, and make it more scientific and rational.
