Abstract: The Cordyceps militaris could be artificially domesticated and cultivated. Since it contained multiple bioactive compositions, such as cordycepin, cordyceps acid and cordyceps polysaccharide, and had the efficacies of enhancing human immunity, anti- tumor and anti- oxidation, to some extent, it might be alternative of the increasingly rare cordyceps sinensis. To fully study the cultivation and processing technologies of Cordyceps militaris, this paper summarized latest progresses in study of its compositions, pharmacological properties, artificial cultivation as well as product processing and analyzed reasons why cordyceps could not be cultivated in large scale. The paper also indicated problems faced with Cordyceps militaris processing and study, including the backward processing technology development and less attention to the area. At the end, the author listed several suggestions to the study and industrialization of Cordyceps militaris.
