Advances of Drought-resistant Genes and Drought-resistant Transgenic of Main Crops of Gramineae Plants

Abstract: The ability of plants to tolerate drought conditions is crucial for normal plant growth and productivity. In order to improve the ability of graminaceous crops to tolerate drought, the functional genes, transcription factors, and the signal factor which was related with plant response to drought were summarized based on the plant drought resistance mechanism. Advances of drought-resistant genes and drought-resistant transgenic about graminaceous crops, such as rice, wheat, maize and sugarcane were reviewed. In addition, the suggestions about plant drought resistance research were made, including important drought resistant gene excavation in adversity plants, integrated expression system construction and scientific and standard evaluation system research on drought resistance of transgenic plant.
