Abstract: For mass production of adventitious roots of Oplopanax elatus Nakai, the effects of culture methods, IBA concentrations, sugar types and white sugar concentrations during bioreactor on adventitious roots proliferation and growth were studied. The results showed that bioreactor culture was optimal. The best adventitious roots proliferation was observed when 3 mg/L IBA was added into the medium during bioreactor culture, the fresh and dry weight reached the maximum (378.3g, 34.8g). White sugar and sucrose were better than glucose and fructose in adventitious roots proliferation, therefore the cheap white sugar was regarded as carbon source, and white sugar concentration of 50 g/L was the most suitable for fresh and dry weight as well as multiplication coefficient, the maximum were 551.9 g、57.2 g and 26.6, respectively.
