Pattern Designs of Scale Land Management in Loess Hilly and Gully Region——Based on the Analysis of Questionnaire Surveys of Farmers of Chakou Small Watershed in Yonghe, Shanxi Province

Abstract: There is obvious district difference in China. Pattern of scale land management should be designed according to local conditions. The author designed 2 questionnaires to investigate the condition of scale land management of farmers of Chakou small watershed in the loess hilly and gully region, the data showed 6 key problems: shortage and low quality of manpower, fragmentation and big area gap of cultivated land, high demand of agricultural technology and lack of variable product category, low willingness and simple form of land transaction, poor conservation of water and soil and damage of environment, lack of policy and fund. To solve these problems and to develop Chakou small watershed, based on land use types and farmers’ scale land management willingness, watershed was cut into three parts that contain 5 pattern designs: contract after rent and farmers cooperatives pattern in north area, accurate production pattern in middle area, family farm and service-oriented brand operation pattern in southeast area.
