The Effects of Cantharidin on the PP2A Gene Expression in the Ovarian Cell of Spodoptera frugiperda

Abstract

Abstract: The gene expression of the protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) in the ovarian cell of Spodoptera frugiperda treated with different concentrations of cantharidin was analyzed by real time quantitative PCR in order to study the effects of cantharidin on PP2A gene expression. The results showed that there was a negative relationship between the relative expression of PP2A and the cantharidin concentration. The relative expressions of PP2A at four different cantharidin concentrations were not significantly different (P＜0.05) and were significantly lower than that of CK after being treated for 24 h (P＜0.01). At the same cantharidin concentration, the relative expressions of PP2A after being treated for 24 h at different cantharidin concentrations except 25μg/mL were significantly higher than those for 6 h (P＜0.05). These results suggested that cantharidin had a certain influence on the expressions of PP2A depending on the cantharidin concentration and treatment time.
