Abstract: A substrate culture experiment was conducted to study the effect of different biological organic fertilizer levels (low level, medium level and high level, chemical fertilizer as control) on growth and photosynthetic characters of Chinese kale (Brassica alboglabra Bailey). Results showed that compared with control, the growth of the Chinese kale in treatments of medium and low level biological organic fertilization were inhibited. There were no significantly difference in the plant height, stem diameter, leaf number, leaf area and plant economic coefficient of Chinese kale between chemical fertilizer treatment and high level biological organic fertilizer treatment. The photosynthesis, plant growth and the yield of Chinese kale were enhanced in the treatment of high level fertilization, and it was the appropriate organic fertilization amount for Chinese kale production.
