Abstract: In order to further explore relationships between bud dormancy release and H2O2 metabolism, changes of H2O2 level, CAT activity and POD activity of‘Shuguang’nectarine buds during artificial dormancybreaking process were studied. High temperature of 50℃(HT), hydrogen cyanamide (HC) and TDZ (TDZ) were selected as dormancy-breaking treatments. Both HT and HC treatments significantly breaking bud dormancy, inhibited CAT activity and induced H2O2 accumulation, but showed little effects on POD activity. TDZ showed poor dormancy-breaking efficiency and no significant effects on H2O2 content, CAT activity and POD activity. Inducing H2O2 accumulation through CAT inhibition might be an important part of dormancy- breaking mechanism induced by HT and HC.
