Abstract: To provide a basis for cassava varieties selection of Jiangxi red soil upland, the authors applied grey system theory to comprehensive evaluation on the adaptability of different cassava varieties. Using the grey system theory correlation method, the authors analyzed the main characteristics of the 38 cassava varieties that introduced in 2010 and 2011. The results showed that, H867, H628, H989, H632, H680, SC205, GR024-2, ZM99229, SC8 and H1312 among those 38 varieties had higher correlation with reference variety (>0.619), and their comprehensive performance were better in red soil upland of Jiangxi Province, but the varieties ‘Swiss P11’, ‘Guire 3’, G37, F100 and ‘Swiss 88’ had less correlation with reference variety (<0.506), and their comprehensive performance was bad in Jiangxi province. The grey system theory could be used as cassava adaptability evaluation method. H867, H628, H989, H632, H680, SC205, GR024-2, ZM99229, SC8 and H1312 and other varieties are suitable for planting in Jiangxi Province and have high yield.
