Causative Analysis of the first Local Heavy Rainstorm Process in Weifang City in 2012

Abstract: Based on the routine observational data, dense AWS data, NCEP/NCAR data and FY-2E data, an analysis of the first local heavy rainstorm process on 4 to 5 July 2012 in Weifang city is conducted. The result shows that the main influencing systems of the local heavy rainstorm are prior trough, low vortex shear line, low level Jet and cyclone. The area of local rainstorm corresponds to larger water vapor flux area and convergence center. The timing and location of super low level jet plays an important role in increase and emergence area of precipitation intensity. The surface mesoscale and microscale convergence center contributes to local rainstorm. The emergence of heavy rainstorm in Linqu regional station is related to special terrain. It occurred in the very stiff and dense section of moist isentropes and the area which is in the low troposphere of convective instability when MPV1 is less than 0 and has a larger growth about absolute value of MPV2. The changing range and intensity of the mesoscale convective cloud cluster has important indicating significance in heavy rainstorm development.
