Comparative advantage of major agricultural Products in Sichuan

Abstract: To promote a new round of advantage agricultural products industry distribution , realize the sustainable development of sichuan agricultural advantages products, and improve agricultural competitiveness in Sichuan in this paper, related research were studied. According to the comparative advantage index method, the comparative advantage of Sichuan major agricultural products during 2009 to 2011 was analyzed from three different aspects, which were scale, efficiency and comprehensive comparative advantage index. The result is that canola, potatoes, tea, tobacco and rice were the dominant product after the ‘Wenchuan’ earthquake in Sichuan. The proposals which can improve the competitiveness of agricultural products in Sichuan were given. These results provide the basis for Sichuan agricultural crop production scientific development and resources of optimal allocation. These results also lay the foundation for the Sichuan agricultural crop production and industrial layout.
