Abstract: In order to find the relationship between immune-related enzyme activities and shell traits in scallop Patinopecten yessoensis, superoxide dismutase(SOD), catalase(CAT), Peroxidase(POD) activities of coelomic fluid were examined and compared. From our study, there is no significant difference in SOD, CAT and POD activities among different shell sizes. However, for P. yessoensis in different shell colors, the difference in SOD and CAT activities of coelomic fluid between brown and white is significant (P<0.05), while there is no significant difference in POD activities. Our results suggested that shell color is to some degree correlated with SOD and CAT activities. This study has enriched our knowledge of scallop shell traits and can provide a new direction of scallop selective breeding.
