Effect of N Fertilizer and Removing Leaves after Flowering on 1000-Grain Weight

Abstract: To study the effects of removing leaves after flowering on 1000-grain weight of wheat, through the treatments of reserving all the leaves (CK), reserving flag leaf and backward second leaf, reserving flag leaf, removing flag leaf, removing all the leaves, we studied the effects of wheat leaves on the 1000-grain weight in different quantity of N. The results showed that there were significant differences in the 1000-grain weight between different treatments of removing leaf (P<0.05), the 1000-grain weight in the treatments of removal leaf was less than which in the treatment of no removing leaf. The trend of 1000-grain weight was accordance under different nitrogen treatment. The effect of treatments of removing leaf on 1000-grain weight was in the following order: removing all the leaves > reserving flag leaf > reserving flag leaf and backward second leaf > removing flag leaf.
