Effects of silicon fertilizer treatment on buckwheat seedling drought resistance

Abstract: Study on the effects of different concentrations of silicon fertilizer on physiological indices of drought resistance in Buckwheat Seedlings, drought resistant characteristics difference comparison of the comprehensive index of each group, screened the suitable concentration of silicon, and provide scientific basis for the reasonable application of silicon fertilizer to improve buckwheat yield in arid regions. the No. 3 seed of buckwheat for the material was potted after germination. before planting, respectively 0.05mol / L, 0.10mol / L, 0.15mol / L, 0.2 mol / L potassium silicate (K2SiO3) solution was applied to a one-time mild (60% of field capacity), moderate (40% of field capacity) and severe drought stress (20% field capacity) soil, distilled water as a control. When seedlings grow to two leaves stage, its SOD, POD activity and soluble sugar content was measured. The results show that increasing drought stress, the activity of SOD and POD of buckwheat seedling were declined and soluble sugar content was improved and each treatment group with the same degree of stress compared to the control group, SOD, POD activity and soluble sugar content have risen after pulsing silicon and treatment of Silicon 0.05mol / L of various biochemical parameters were significantly higher ground, which indicating the drought damage of buckwheat seedlings intensified after irrigation reduced and the appropriate silicon fertilizer helps mitigation of drought damage buckwheat seedlings, improve its drought resistance.
