Abstract: Activated carbon is a kind of porous carbon with adsorption simple substance, and has been widely used in food processing, military chemistry, environmental protection, etc. Through the utilization of Salix psammophila wood, the author selected potassium hydroxide as the activating agent, prepared sand willow wood activated carbon, and investigated the effect of microwave irradiation, activator concentration, liquid-solid ratio, dipping time, radiation time, radiation power and other factors on the adsorption properties of activated carbon prepared by orthogonal optimization of the results of single factor test. The optimum technological condition for preparing sand willow wood activated carbon through activation of potassium hydroxide was: liquid-solid ratio 4:1, soaking time 18 h, irradiation power 560 W, irradiation time 20 min; under this condition, the activated carbon iodine adsorption value was 1011.01 mg/g, reaching the GB/T 13803.2—1999 standard.
