Analysis on the countermeasures and the potentiality of Artificial Precipitation Enhancement in Fuxin

Abstract: For developing cloud water resources and increasing the total precipitation effectively,according to the principles of artificial precipitation enhancement,and based on the historical weather and live precipitation data from Fuxin National Basic Meteorological Stations Between 1981 and 2010, the research was conducted to analyze the cloud water resource distribution characteristics and the countermeasures and potentiality of artificial precipitation enhancement in Fuxin City of Liaoning Province. The experiment results showed that :(1) Fuxin region had an average annual total cloud water resources of 238.4 × 108 m3, while the actual average annual rainfall was only 471.8mm, that was equivalent to 47.2 × 108 m3 water resources, only 16.5 percent of total cloud water resources. Therefor, Fuxin region has great artificial precipitation potency;(2) The author carried out 12 times of artificial precipitation enhancement operation experiment by using the weather model and technical indexes above that were suitable for Fuxin region. The artificial precipitation efficiency was 17.8% on average, 5.2% higher than before, and the average annual precipitation could be increased 2.5×108 m3 approximately. All of these have a great sense for guiding Fuxin region to carry out artificial precipitation operation, maximize the development of air cloud water resources, increase the total precipitation and mitigate drought both scientifically and effectively.
