Abstract: Plants have established a complicated immunity system during co-evolution with pathogens, and their metabolism plays important role in the immunity system. In various metabolic processes, it produced many metabolites which could improve plant disease resistance, and these metabolites formed important material basis for plant immunity system. To understand the functions and mechanism of the metabolites in plant disease resistance, according to recent studies, we reviewed biochemistry characteristics of plant metabolites including salicylic acid, lectins, hydroxyproline-rich glycoproteins and secondary metabolites momilactones, lignin and callose. Moreover, the function of these metabolites in plant disease resistance and their action mechanism in resistance signal transduction were also illustrated.
