Research Progress of Novel Plant Hormone Strigolactones

Abstract

Abstract: The novel plant hormone strigolactones was the general name for strigol-like compounds and had many important biological functions such as inhibition on plant branching. Strigolactones had the same carbon skeleton structure and came from carotenoid biosynthetic pathway. The signal transduction in strigolactones was mediated by receptor-protein. Strigolactones became a focus in international research at present, but the domestic research started relatively late. In order to deepen the understanding of strigolactones, the author concluded that the latest research progress of isolation, structure, biological function, pathway of biosynthesis and signal transduction, distribution and evolutionary about strigolactones. The research direction and application prospects about strigolactones were also discussed. This paper would provide reference for further in-depth study of strigolactones.
