Abstract: To investigate the most suitable salinity condition for the embryo hatching and larval growth of hybrid puffer (Takifugu flavidus♀×Takifugu obscures♂), fertilized eggs hatching and larval growth were observed under the conditions of different salinities, namely 0, 5‰, 10‰, 15‰, 20‰, 25‰, 30‰, 35‰, 40‰ and 45‰. The results showed that fertilized eggs of hybrid puffer could hatch under salinity of 5‰~45‰, and 15‰~35‰ was the optimal salinity range. Hatch period (y) had nonlinear correlation with incubation time(x), the regression equation was y=-1245.366 15.543x-0.048x2(R2=0.911). The optimal salinity range for larval growth was 15‰~30‰, and there was no significant difference in the optimal salinity range(P>0.05). All the results indicated that the optimal salinity range of fertilized eggs hatching and larval growth of hybrid puffer (Takifugu flavidus♀×Takifugu obscures♂) was 15‰~35‰, development and growth of hybrid puffer was normal in this range.
