Abstract: Acetyl lactic acid synthetase inhibitor herbicide has dominated the herbicide market since 1990s because of its special advantages. With the appearance of genetically modified crops resistant to glyphosate, the sales quantity of glyphosate increase greatly and acetyl lactic acid synthetase inhibitor herbicide decrease sharply. However, a large number of glyphosate resistant weeds appear, people are looking forward to breeding different kinds of genetically modified crops with herbicide resistances, and crops with resistance to ALS inhibitor herbicides become the first choice. In this paper, we summarized the construction and function of acetyl lactic acid synthetase, action mechanism of herbicide and research development of ALS resistant gene, with the expectation to provide reference for screening inhibitor gene resistant to ALS.
