Effects of Loading Modes on Tobacco Leaf Quality in Bulk Cured Barn

Abstract: In order to compare the effect of different loading modes on tobacco leaf quality, ‘K326’ was used as material, 4 loading modes (clamp, loose leaf, box-type and culm) were compared. The results showed that: (1) loading modes of clamp, loose leaf and box-type could decrease the cost of curing by 11.78%; (2) the proportion of middle & upper level of tobacco leaves and average price of cured tobacco leaves of clamp and loose leaf mode were consistent with that of culm, the proportion of smooth leaves cured by box-type and loose leaf was higher than that of culm; (3) the leaves cured by culm had a better appearance; (4) the intrinsic chemical composition of tobacco leaves met the standard of high quality flue-cured tobacco of loose leaf, box-type and culm mode; (5) the sensory quality of tobacco leaves cured by culm mode was better than that of clamp, loose leaf and box-type mode.
