Effect of Low Temperature Stress on Antioxidant System of CbPLDα and CbPLDβ Transgenic Tobaccos

Abstract: To study the physiological response of Chorispora bungeana CbPLDα and CbPLDβ transgenic tobacco to low temperature, the authors used 4℃ and 0℃ temperature stresses to reveal the role of CbPLDα and CbPLDβ in low temperature resistance in plants. The results showed that the content of MDA, the activity of SOD and APX increased under 4℃ treatment, while the activity of POD and CAT decreased with the time. However, under 0℃ treatment, the content of MDA, the activity of CAT and APX decreased with the time, while the activity of SOD and POD increased. Under the cold stress, the activities of POD, SOD and CAT in transgenic tobacco plants were obviously higher than those in the non-transgenic tobacco plants. The contents of MDA in transgenic tobacco plants were obviously lower than those in the non-transgenic tobacco plants. The results showed that the over expressing of CbPLDα and CbPLDβ gene improved the cold resistance of tobacco.
