Abstract: In order to accelerate the process of herbage degradation, three fungi strains with herbage degradation ability including white rot fungi, Trichoderma ressei and QD-1, and perennial ryegrass with good phytoremediation characteristic were selected for this study. The orthogonal experiment was conducted to optimize the herbage degradation condition. The results showed that inoculating white rot fungi, Trichoderma ressei and QD-1 strain in 5%, 5%, 5% respectively, applying 1.6 g/kg urea and keeping moisture content at 60% could get the optimum degradation rate which were 45.6% after fermenting for 30 days. The QD-1 strain was Pterula sp. identified by using 18SrDNA-26SrDNA ITS method. In the degradation process, QD-1 strain was not susceptible to natural microorganisms and was easy to be the dominant strain, indicated that using this strain was beneficial to realize the standardized operation of the herbage degradation. This study provided a foundational theory for using external fungi in the process of herbage and straw degradation.
