Abstract: The study on components of flower pigments is significant in exploring the mechanism of flower coloration. In this study, the yellow sepals were measured by the color phenotype determination, UV-visible spectra of flower pigments and UPLC. The results indicated that the yellow sepals consisted of carotenoids and flavonoids. In carotenoids, β-carotenoids content was the highest, up to 825.80 μg/(g·FW), the second was β-cryptoxanthin content [322.28 μg/(g·FW)], lutein content was the lowest [3.87 μg/(g·FW)]. This paper provides a reference for the identification of molecular structure of flower pigments and the breeding of flower color in Strelitzia reginae.
