Research Progress of Messerschmidia sibirica Linn.

Abstract: Haze was serious in large and medium-sized cities of China in recent years, wind-sand activity and sandstorm phenomenon existed in winter and spring seasons in northern area for a long time, and the widespread use of chloric snow-melting agent brought crushing blow to farms and green belt on both sides of the road, at the same time, water resource was seriously deficient in large cities. The authors summarized the plant classification, physiological ecology characteristics and application value of Messerschmidia sibirica Linn. By the method of literature analysis, the physiological ecology characteristics were mainly elaborated from salt alkaline tolerance, drought resistance, heat resistance, sand buried resistance, barren tolerance, waterlogging resistance and community characteristics. The application value was also affirmed, it not only had the effect of sand stabilization, soil improvement, vegetation restoration and landscaping, but also could be used in medicine, feed, nectar source plants, green manure and so on. Finally, the authors discussed the development direction and existing problems of the research on Messerschmidia sibirica Linn, in order to provide certain information for future study.
