Abstract: The research on current situation of driving force of cultivated land change in China was summarized based on the scales of nation, region, province and county, and the existing problems were proposed. The methods of documentation and comparative analysis were adopted in the research. The results showed that both qualitative and quantitative method were used in studying the driving force of cultivated land change in China, and the establishment of driving force model was mainly based on land utilization dynamic change model. The research focused on national and regional scale was less, while the study on small-scale such as province and county was relatively more. The existing problems included uneven distribution of achievements, poor data consistency, simplex research methodology (especially in small-scale research), strong subjectivity in the selection of driving factor and poor compatibility of different research achievements. This research provided reference for cultivated land change driving force selection in different scales and further study on cultivated land utilization change.
