Climate Quality Certification of Navel Orange in Southern Jiangxi

Abstract: According to the requirements of quality formation of navel orange, the authors designed to determine its climate quality certification index. Comparing quality test data of navel orange from 2008 to 2009 with corresponding meteorological data, the authors did the statistical surveys. The results showed that: the daily range of temperature from June to November and the total sunshine duration from October to November had the greatest influence on the soluble solids of navel orange, the average temperature and precipitation from October to November had obvious influence on the total acid content of navel orange. According to the meteorological factors’ influence on the quality of navel orange, the climate quality relation model of navel orange was established about soluble solids, total acids content and solid acid ratio. Based on the model, combining with sampling test results in orchard field, the authors determined the climate quality level of navel oranges. Meteorological department, which is the third party outside of consumers and producers of navel orange, carries out the climate quality certification of agricultural products, and can provide a scientific evidence for consumers to purchase navel orange and enhancing added value of navel orange and benefit.
