Abstract: To break up constraints of bio-denitrification technology, improve the efficiency of denitrification of circulating water, and supply an oxygen- rich environment suitable for aquaculture and increase economic benefit, we developed a reasonably designed, efficient and environmental friendly denitrification system with zero-emission in industrial recirculating aquaculture based on aquaponics. The system was developed aimed to break the key bottleneck of different nutrient concentrations needed by fish and plants. The aquaculture wastewater was passed through electromigration and membrane concentration process. After that, the wastewater was changed to two kinds of water, which could respectively meet the nutritional needs of plants and fish. Thus the system could solve the contradiction of different nutrition needs between plant and fish, improve yield, and obtain economic benefit. At the same time, for the operational convenience of the system, controlling platforms with 24 h centralization and distribution control abilities were set up. Application analysis showed that the system could meet the growth needs of fish and plant, thus was successfully developed.
