Abstract: To explore the yield potential of Coix in plateau area of Yunnan Province, and select the best Coix variety, planting density and fertilizing quantity in Shizong County, the authors carried out an orthogonal experiment with three factors and four levels, according to varieties (lines), planting density, fertilizing quantity. The results showed that the variety of‘Shiyi I’had the highest yield potential in the plateau of Shizong County. Moreover, the highest yield for all varieties (lines) occurred under the combination of low density (83370- 100050 plants/hm2) and moderate amount of fertilizing quantity (300- 450 kg/hm2). The treatment A1B3C3 ‘( Shiyi I’, 100050 plants/hm2, fertilizing quantity 450 kg/hm2) was the optimal combination model of variety, planting density and fertilizing quantity, and the yield reached 7143.60 kg/hm2. The optimal combination model can be recommended in Shizong County of Yunnan Province, and other regions with similar environment.
