Abstract: Agrobacterium- mediated transformation is the most common genetic transformation method for peanuts (Arachis hypogaea L). In recent years, the technology of Agrobacterium-mediated transformation for peanut matures gradually. However, there are still barriers such as incomplete regeneration system, low transformation efficiency and genotype restriction. In order to establish an efficient regeneration and genetic transformation system for peanuts, in this paper, the tissue culture and Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of peanut at home and abroad in recent years were summarized. The induction efficiency and transformation effect were analyzed. It indicated that the embryo transformation system could improve the stability of exogenous genes and overcome the chimera problems. Based on the existing tissue culture regeneration systems, the embryo regeneration of peanut should be optimized, the high- frequency embryo regeneration system should be established, the transformation efficiency should be improved, and the safe and efficient transformation system with standardization, scale, industrialization and repeatability should be set up, which are the development trends of peanut genetic transformation.
