Purification Condition of Flavonoids from Garcinia mangostana Pericarp

Abstract: The study aims to clarify the condition for purifying total flavonoids from the pericarp of mangostana. Optimal parameters of purification of total flavonoids were studied through static and dynamic adsorption and desorption behaviors. The results showed that effect of the dynamic adsorption and desorption was better than the static one. The optimum condition of purification was as following: 30 mL 2 mg/mL of mangostana was loaded onto the column at a flow rate of 2 mL/min, and eluted with 60 mL of 70% alcohol at a flow rate of 2 mL/min. Under the condition, the content of total flavonoids was increased from 57.8 mg/mL to 174.2 mg/mL.
