Species of Pests on Mungbean in Yulin Region: An Investigation

Abstract: To clarity the species of pests and their damage degree, a systematic investigation of the pests on mungbean in Yulin region was carried out by means of black light trap method and field investigation method in 2014-2015. The results showed that 31 species of the insect pests on mungbean were found in Yulin, belonging to 16 families, 4 orders. 13 species of Lepidoptera pests were collected, accounted for 41.9% of the total number. 12 species of Coleoptera pests were collected, accounted for 38.7% of the total number. 4 species of Hemiptera pests were collected, accounted for 12.9% of the total number. 2 species of Homoptera pests were collected, accounted for 6.5% of the total number. The insect pests on mungbean of Yulin were mainly Lepidoptera and Coleopteran. The most important pests on mungbean in Yulin were Etiella zinckenella, Maladera orientalis, M. verticalis, Aphis craccivora. In addition, the damage characteristics and occurrence regularity of these pests on mungbean were introduced. This research provided basic data for prediction and control of insect pests on mungbean in Yulin.
