Abstract: 12 millet varieties cultivars with vermiculite were used as experimental materials. The physiological indexes such as fresh weight, root length, root / shoot ratio, chlorophyll content and photosynthetic rate were measured after treatment with nutrient solution with nitrogen concentration of 5 mmol / L and 0.1 mmol / L for one month. The results showed that the fresh weight and chlorophyll content of different cultivars decreased after low nitrogen stress, but the chlorophyll a / b increased, and the root / shoot ratio of all varieties increased, and the photosynthetic rate of all varieties decreased at low nitrogen stress. The comprehensive evaluation was: LONGGU 31, LONGGU 25, JINGU 41, and JIGU 31 were resistant to low nitrogen stress.
